Leebo Freeman: Model, DJ, Actor, Heavy Metal Drummer, Mixed Martial Artist, BMX Rider, and oh yeah, HEARTTHROB!!

Valentine’s Day isn’t the only thing that’s making out hearts beat faster this month. NYFW is around the corner, and I’ll be there right in the heart of it all. One of my favorite male models and friend, Leebo Freeman, took the time to answer some fun questions for the blog. He and I met during Richie Rich’s show at Funkshion Fashion Week in October of 2010. I knew it from the moment that I saw him that he’s definitely got that star quality. 

I doubt that he needs any introduction, but just in case you live in a hole, Leebo has quickly made quite a name for himself in the fashion industry. Our jaws dropped when he opened for Thierry Mugler in January of 2011. Since then his career has skyrocketed, and he deserves every bit of it. 

HG: What did you want to be when you were a little kid?

LF: When I was a wee lad, the FIRST thing I ever aspired to do with my life, was move to Tokyo and make classic style Godzilla flicks. HAHA! (Of course being a propa little boy obsessed wiv a massive dinosaur that destroys everything!) Then after that, I wanted to be a fighter pilot! You know, the norm… 

 

HG: What is your “Bucket List”? Top ten things to do before you die.

LF: You know… I think it would take me ages to list ten things.. but I will say a few definite ones. 1. Have a family and be an amazing Dad. 2. Skydive..like everyone. 3. Punch an American cop.. After seeing a special on police brutality this year. 4. DJ at Ultra fest in Miami! 5. Fly a plane AND helicopter. That’s all i can think of right now..

*HG: 5 is cool with me. And no, everyone does not want to skydive. I am terrified of heights. (I’d have to wear brown pants if you know what I mean.) 

HG: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are 3 things you’d bring?

LF:Susie Adams, some form of playing or listening to music, my brother and his GF. Haha.

*HG: I know, I know, he listed four things not three…but’s he’s Fuck Yeah Leebo Freeman!!! (that’s the name of one of his numerous fan sites)

 

HG: If you had a theme song to your life, what would it be?

LF: Hmm…tough one.  Would probly say 2 tracks, both by Paul Keeley. Either -“Wegel” or “Life Aquatic”. They are two tracks that no matter what I’m feeling, they always give me that tingle down the back of my head and neck and make me see everything great that’s happening in life at that moment and generally. Very uplifting.

HG: Are you a cat person or a dog person?

LF: BOTH! I have one dog and 6 cats, Love animals SO much. They have such a positive energy about them that is infinite.

 

HG: What is your favorite comfort food?

LF: Chocolate for sweet, and Either a Tortilla crisp or pretzels for the salty!

HG: One piece of clothing that you cannot live without?

LF: Uhh, I don’t think there are any that I couldn’t live without. clothes don’t mean loads to me. Just a handy tool of comfort and expression. 

 

HG: What is the significance of the earring that you wear? (the dangle one)

LF: Not really any significance other than how 80’s it looks and the fact that it’s a dreamcatcher. It represents a bit of my Native American. I suppose I just never took it off and nobody really ever wanted me to, so it became a bit of a staple.
